Kothagudem: The police have seized nearly 150 kilograms of dry ganja at Aswaraopet in the district on Monday. Paloncha DSP KRK Prasad told the press at Aswaraopet town that the police who were conducting vehicle inspections at the town they spotted two speeding cars and they stopped the cars. On checking the vehicles the police found 42 packets of ganja in the car.
The police took three persons into custody, seized 10 cell phones, two cars and six debit cards. While the police were checking the cars two persons who were travelling one of the cars escaped from scene. The accused revealed their names as Vipul, MD Raju from New Delhi, Md. Ashfaq from Jharkhand.
During the interrogation they confessed that they were smuggling ganja from Malkangiri district in Odisha state to Delhi. The cost of ganja was estimated to be Rs 30 lakhs in open market, informed the DSP.
