CM YS Jagan Holds Meeting On Establishment Of Skill Development Colleges

Tadepally, Sept.1 (Hydnow): AP Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy asked officials of AP government to take steps for the identification of suitable lands for the establishment of skill development colleges in Andhra Pradesh. He made it clear to the officials that colleges should be built with the highest quality and added that they should also look beautiful. Reddy said that there should be one skill development college in every Lok Sabha constituency and added that there should be a total of 30 colleges in the entire state.

The Chief Minister issued these orders while holding a review meeting on the issue with the officials concerned. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the skill development colleges would play a very important role in providing skilled Human Resources to the industries of the country and ensure industrial development. The CM inquired about the courses to be offered at these colleges. The officials told the CM that they had identified places at 20 areas of the state to establish the colleges so far and added that the process of the identification of the land for the remaining colleges was underway. They also told the CM that they had prepared the syllabus for the courses to be offered in the colleges. They also told the CM that they would offer three types of courses finishing courses, skill courses and alternate courses. They said that they would offer training to the aspirants in 167 courses including 127 finishing and skilled courses and 35 alternative skill courses.

They said that they had prepared the courses after conducting the survey about the skills required by the industries of the state. They told the CM four international organisations had taken part in the preparation of syllabus of the courses. (Hydnow)
