Tirumala, July 31 (Hydnow): On second day of the ongoing annual Pavitrotsavams, the ritual of Pavitra Samarpana was performed in Ekantham in view of Covid-19 restrictions.

Speaking to media the TTD EO Anil Kumar Singhal said the annual Pavitrotsavams are in vogue at Srivari temple since 15th century and revived by TTD in 1962. The festival was aimed at averting any bad effects as a result of any lapses caused, if any, during festivals etc. in the temple throughout the year.

As part of the annual utsavam, Pavitra pratista was performed on Thursday, Pavitra samarpana is done on Friday and concludes with Purnahuti on Saturday.
The EO said the annual event is held in Ekantham in view of COVID-19 restrictions and was confident that Lord Venkateswara will bless humanity with relief from pandemic Coronavirus.

On second day of Pavitrotsavam Snapana thirumanjanam was offered to utsava idols at sampangi prakaram and later on Pavitra Malas were adorned to the deities along with Jaya-Vijaya, Garudawar, Varadarajaswamy, Vakulamata, Ananda Nilayam, Yagasala, Viswaksena, Yoga Narasimha, Bashyakarulavaru Potu Tayaru, Dwajasthambham, BaliPeetham, Sri Varahaswami and Sri Bedi Anjaneya.
Tirumala Junior Pontiff Sri Sri Sri Chinna Jeeyarswami, Additional EO A V Dharma Reddy and Srivari temple DyEO Harindranath participated. (Hynow)
