Youngsters held for fake documents at US Embassy

Hyderabad: The Chanakyapuri police in New Delhi have arrested two youngsters from Warangal district on charges of producing fake educational and work experience certificates along with other fake documents and attempting to cheat the US Embassy last Tuesday.

The suspects, identified as Sai Chandu Reddy Padi (26) and Maneesh Deva (24), residents of Warangal Urban, Warangal, had applied for non-immigrant student visas at the US Embassy in New Delhi allegedly by submitting fake documents.

However, during the stipulated visa interview with the US Embassy officials, it was found that neither did they attend any courses as claimed or had previous work experience. They had submitted fake documents, including bank balance documents, with the help of agents and fake consultancies based in Hanamkonda.

The police booked a case for cheating, forgery and other sections and arrested them.

Meanwhile, education consultants based in Hyderabad have warned students against fake certificates and trying to go abroad using such forged documents.

“The attempts to procure a visa based on false documents and false statements with the intent to overstay in the United States or any other country is a serious security matter to both nations,” an educational consultant said, adding that of late, there were several incidents of youngsters, mostly students, falling in the trap of such fake educational consultancies.

“Apart from they being banned from entering the host nations, such actions will also have an impact on the city and State they belong to,” the consultant added.
