Hyderabad, Aug 11 (Hydnow):  Thousands of applications are coming for liquor shop tenders (2023-25) in Telangana.  Being an election year, thousands are coming forward to tender the reasons that the demand for liquor will be good.  By August 11, nearly 7 thousand people have applied to get the tender.

Competition for tenders is high in Ranga Reddy, Nizamabad, karim nagar, Warangal, and Khammam districts.  There are a total of 2,620 wine shops in the state.  It is heard that BR’s public representatives are more involved in awarding tenders.

A non-refundable fee of Rs. 2 lahks is being charged for each application.  It is noteworthy that till now the income received by the government through this fee is Rs. 1,000 crores.  The existing wine shops are going to expire on November 30.

It seems that the government has set a target of collecting Rs. 2 thousand crores through applications and excise duty.  (Hydnow)
