Hubballi: Anjali Ambiger (20) was stabbed to death by Girish Sawanth (21) on Wednesday morning for refusing to accept his proposal at her house in Veerapur Oni, Hubballi Karnataka.
After the death of her parents, Anjali and her sisters were living with their grandmother and used to work at a canteen.
According to the victim’s sister, Girish had earlier told the grandmother that he loved Anjali and wished to marry her. The grandmother declined his request telling him that Anjali was not interested in his proposal.
Girish committed the crime in the presence of the victim’s grandmother and two sisters. He dragged her all over the house, kicking and stabbing her. Later the killer pushed her into the kitchen where he stabbed her again.
Girish had threatened Anjali mentioning the Neha Hiremath murder case. A manhunt was launched to nab the accused.
