Hyderabad, April 18 (Maxim News) A major fire broke out in a private travel bus in the KPHB on Friday night, triggering panic among passengers. However, alert staff ensured that all 20 passengers were safely evacuated before the flames spread, averting a major tragedy.

According to local residents and the police, the AC sleeper bus belonging to Sri Durga Maheshwari Travels had started from Miyapur and was heading towards SR Nagar, en route to Palakollu in Andhra Pradesh when the incident occurred.

It was around 11 pm, when the bus reached near Padmavathi Plaza bus stop in KPHB, flames were first noticed in the driver’s cabin.


The bus crew acted swiftly and brought all passengers to safety. Within minutes, the fire engulfed the entire vehicle.

On receiving information, the Kukatpally Traffic CI Janayya and fire personnel rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control promptly.

No casualties or injuries were reported. However, the incident caused heavy traffic congestion in the area.


The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. (Maxim News)
