Hyderabad, April 9: The Al Aqsa Mosque reopens after 40 days ceasefire, allowing worshippers to return for prayers. The Fajr call was heard again at the Al-Aqsa Mosque on April 9.
The reopening follows weeks of restricted access during the conflict. However, a temporary ceasefire between the United States and Iran enabled the move. Worshippers have now resumed visits to the site.
Meanwhile, António Guterres warned that Israeli actions in Lebanon threaten the fragile truce. He called for an immediate halt to hostilities. He added that continued strikes could weaken peace efforts.
Iran announced alternate shipping routes in the Strait of Hormuz due to mine risks. However, Tehran agreed to reopen the route during the two week ceasefire.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump rejected reports of a negotiation plan with Iran. He said the claims were false and misleading.
The group Defence for Children International Palestine said it will shut operations after 35 years. It cited pressure from Israeli authorities.
