Bihar: Nitish Kumar Wins Majority Trust Votes, BJP Walks Out

Bihar: The new Grand Alliance administration of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar won today’s trust vote in the assembly. During his remarks prior to the election, the BJP left the room in protest.

Following the BJP walkout, Mr. Kumar received all 160 votes in the subsequent ballot. In the 243-member Bihar assembly, 164 MLAs backed Nitish Kumar’s administration, making the majority test mostly a formality.

Tejashwi Yadav, the leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal and Mr. Kumar’s new deputy, stated that the new collaboration will be “historic” during the debate on the vote of confidence. “This game will go on forever and be remembered in history. Our relationship will last a long time. Nobody will be chased away, “declared Tejashwi Yadav.

Nitish Kumar, his former employer, came under fire from the BJP’s Tarakishore Prasad during the discussion, who claimed he had lost “political credibility.”

Kumar’s “personal ambition to become prime minister despite not having the potential to become the chief minister on his own steam,” according to the former deputy chief minister, was made fun of.

Speaker Vijay Kumar Sinha, a member of the BJP, resigned prior to the opening of the assembly session in response to a no-confidence vote brought by the Grand Alliance. Deputy Speaker Maheshwar Hazari, a member of Mr. Kumar’s Janata Dal, presided over the floor test (United).

Sunil Singh, Subodh Rai, Dr. Faiyaz Ahmad, and Ashfaque Karim’s houses were raided by the CBI in connection with a “land-for-jobs” scheme dating back hours before the confidence vote.

Tejashwi Yadav attacked the BJP in the Assembly, stating, “Are you attempting to imply that Tejaswi Yadav owns all the property in the nation? Cases are being taken against the individual who made the railroads profitable, but nothing will be done about those who are selling the railroads and the nation “.

Tejashwi Yadav also made a number of vehement statements, charging that whenever the NJP is “scared,” it turns to the Central investigating authorities. “A story is being written. You become Harishchandra if you team up with the BJP (a king from mythology known for his honesty and truthfulness). If not, you are a criminal and a rapist, and the ED and CBI will start looking for you “explained he.

The majority test comes days after Nitish Kumar enlarged his cabinet, giving Tejashwi Yadav’s Rashtriya Janata Dal the majority of the seats. The RJD has 16 of the cabinet’s 31 ministers, while Nitish Kumar’s JD(U) kept 11 of them. A Hindustani Awam Morcha leader, a member of the Independent Party, and two Congress leaders have all been appointed ministers.

On August 10, a day after leaving the BJP, Mr. Kumar took his eighth oath of office as the Chief Minister of Bihar. According to sources, he was concerned that the BJP was planning to replicate the situation in Maharashtra, where the Uddhav Thackeray administration was overthrown by a mutiny led by senior Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde, who is currently the Chief Minister.
