Delhi/Hyderabad, May 9 (Hydnow): There is a tense situation between India and Pakistan. In this context, the Jammu government is shifting people living in border areas of both countries to safer places.
The authorities have arranged shelters along with food for the people. The authorities have also set up food and medical camps. On the other hand, CM Omar Abdullah inspected various areas of Jammu on Friday morning to know the status of the situation in the city. He discussed the matter with the locals.
He also ordered the officials to take necessary steps for them. CM Omar Abdullah revealed this to this extent through his ex-officio platform. Holiday has been declared for educational institutions in Jammu and kashmir till Monday. He said that they will discuss the local situation on Monday and come to a decision on whether to extend the holidays or not. It is known that school holidays have been given for two days from Thursday in the wake of the tense situation between India and Pakistan.
It is known that sirens were heard in several cities of jammu and kashmir on thursday night. The sound of sirens was heard in cities such as akhnoor, Samba, Baramulla, kupwara and others.
In the wake of the tense situation between India and Pakistan, security has been increased at all ports across the country. The central government has issued orders raising the security at them to the second level. The director General of Shipping made a key announcement that the security enhancement orders will come into effect immediately. The center has increased security at ports, ships and terminals.
On the other hand, the government has issued orders not to burst tapas in auspicious places. The Union Home Ministry has also alerted all the states of the country. The Union Home Ministry has written to the Chief Secretaries of all the states and Union Territories to use emergency powers as per the Civil Defence Rules to effectively implement precautionary measures if necessary.
