Hyderabad, June 11 (Hydnow): Congress party leaders, MPs and MLAs were kept under house arrest by police today. The house arrest of the leaders took place in the wake of their call to hold a Chalo Secretariat protest program against burden the people of the state with huge amount of power charges by discoms. The police went to the houses of TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, former president Ponnala Laxmaiah, CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, MP A.Revanth Reddy, former MLA Malreddy Ranga Reddy and others kept them under house arrest. They also took the party MLA and former minister D. Sridhar Babu into custody at Ravindra Bharati when he was trying to go towards the secretariat. The acts of the police have enraged the party leaders.

They demanded the state government to immediately rollback its decision to impose the huge amount of power charges on the consumers of the state. They also alleged that the state government was imposing the unbearable charges in the name of different types of slabs. CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has alleged that CM KCR led state government was ruling the state in a draconian manner. He made it clear that they had sought the appointment of CM KCR to discuss on the issue of corona status, regulatory farming and burden of the power charges. He also targeted the police and alleged that the police were also behaving without giving any information to them. (Hydnow)
