Hyderabad, August 11 (Hydnow): Congress party is planning a massive dharna on 14th August to register protest against the failure of the TRS Government in addressing the problems concerning minorities in Telangana State.

According to Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Minorities Department Chairman Shaik Abdullah Sohail the dharna title ‘Aqliyaton Ki Lalkar(Minorities Garjana) will be held at Dharna Chowk, near Indira Park on 14th August from 11 am onwards. “Minorities, especially Muslims have remained neglected under TRS regime since 2014. Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao made several promises with the minority communities but did not honour a single assurance. We will expose the failures of TRS Government and the fake promises made by CM KCR,” he said in a media statement on Wednesday.

TPCC President A. Revanth Reddy, former PCC Presidents N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, Ponnala Lakshmaiah and V. Hanumantha Rao, CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, former minister Mohammed Ali Shabbir, ex-CLP leader K. Jana Reddy, TPCC Campaign Committee chairman Madhu Yashki Goud, Working Presidents Dr. J Geetha Reddy, Mohd Azharuddin, Anjan Kumar Yadav, Mahesh Kumar Goud and Jagga Reddy, MLAs D. Sridhar Babu, Seethakka, MLC T. Jeevan Reddy, ex-Deputy CM Damodar Raj Narsimha and other senior leaders will participate in the dharna.

CM KCR won the 2014 elections on the promise of giving 12% reservation in jobs and education to Muslims within four months after coming to power. This promise remained unfilled even after seven years. Today, KCR or any other TRS leader is not even talking about it. Similarly, immense damage has been caused to Wakf properties across Telangana State under the TRS regime although KCR had promised to give judicial powers to the board. (Hydnow)
