Bangalore: The contacts of Covid-19 positive patients had attacked the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) staff after they were asked to quarantine themselves, to not further spread the novel coronavirus. The incident happened in the Padarayanapura ward.

The staff had gone to quarantine secondary contacts of patients, and while 15 agreed to go with the officials, a few others created a ruckus

The situation is now under control. Police are looking for surveillance footage to catch the culprits. The area, where the incident took place, is a major hotspot in the city.

On Friday, the number of coronavirus cases soared to 10 from this ward, that was sealed by the officials. Seven out of 10 tested positive from one building itself.

As many as 77 people in the ward have already been quarantined. And several from this ward are allegedly evading officials. They are allegedly hiding, making it difficult to conduct screening.
