COVID-19: Delhi School Closed after teacher, student test positive

A Delhi School student and teacher tested positive for COVID-19 today, April 14, 2022. Upon their diagnosis, the teacher and student were immediately sent back home and assigned a leave until their recovery. As per latest inputs, the classmates of the infected teacher and student have also been sent back home to avoid any potential spread of infection between the students.

As of now, no updates have been given as to if the school will be closing and shifting to online mode. More information can be expected after the situation at the privately run Delhi school is assesed.
The incident took place at a private school in Delhi. “There are reports of a child and a teacher testing positive for Covid. Other students of the class have been sent home. We are closely tracking the situation,” stated Aam Aadmi Party, AAP MLA Atishi.

Many schools have been reporting active cases of COVID-19, especially since the beginning of the new academic session from April 2022 which was resumed offline. Students came back to school after almost 2 years of online classes.

However, due to many minors testing positive for COVID-19, many schools have decided to shut down till recovery is made and are shifting back to online classes. Schools in Noida and Ghaziabad have also closed down after many students tested positive for COVID-19. Schools in the national capital have also reported several cases.

With a spike in the number of active cases and rate of students getting infected, many schools have close down after cases were reported and have shifted back to online classes until the students and teachers recover.
