GHMC, Hyderabad Police Inspect Shaikpet–Tolichowki Road Widening Works to Ease Traffic Congestion

Hyderabad, April 9 (Maxim News) : R.V. Karnan, Commissioner of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), along with V. C. Sajjanar, Commissioner of Hyderabad City Police, conducted a joint inspection of key road widening and traffic improvement works along the Shaikpet–Tolichowki corridor.

The inspection was also attended by Joint Commissioner of Police D. Joel Davis, officials from the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board, the Chief Engineer, Zonal Commissioner (Khairatabad), and senior GHMC engineering officials.

Officials reviewed several critical stretches including the free left turn near Bajaj Electronics, the road widening works from International High School to Laxmi Nagar, the stretch between Shaikpet FOB and Tolichowki FOB, and the road from 7 Tombs to Banjara Darwaza.

During the visit, authorities focused on resolving water stagnation issues, desilting drainage lines, shifting utilities, removing encroachments, improving traffic junctions, and strengthening bitumen (BT) roads. Foot Over Bridge (FOB) related infrastructure improvements were also reviewed.

Officials said these works are aimed at reducing traffic congestion, improving road safety, and ensuring smoother connectivity for daily commuters in the busy Shaikpet–Tolichowki corridor.

The inspection is part of ongoing efforts by GHMC and Hyderabad Police to improve traffic management and urban infrastructure in high-density traffic zones of the city. (Maxim News)
