Hyderabad, Sept.6 (Hydnow): IT Minister KT Rama Rao has informed us that the State government is planning to build another 46 kilometers cycle track around Gandipet lake in the city.
Addressing the program after laying the foundation stone for a cycle track with solar roofing along the service road of the Outer Ring Road (ORR) at Nanakramguda here on Tuesday, Minister KT Rama Rao said that the cycling track project was taken up with the aim of promoting non-motorized transport solutions and protecting the environment.
He assured us that the proposed track along ORR would be made available to people before next summer.

The State government is planning to encourage cycling in a big way in the IT corridor in the days to come and it is also considering the requests to allow bicycles inside the metro rail trains, KTR said.
The proposed cycle track, which is 23 km long and 4.5 meters wide, would connect Nanakramguda and TSPA circle and Narsingi and Kollur. The State government has decided to complete the cycle track before summer next year. Apart from this, the solar rooftop will generate 16 MW of electricity.
The Minister said Anantagiri Hills, Kotipalli Lake, and parts of Vikarabad would also be developed into tourist locations. Educational Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy, Sports Minister V Srinivas Goud, Chevella MP Ranjith Reddy, TRS MLC P Mahender Reddy, Urban Development Special Chief Secretary Arvind Kumar, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Commissioner DS Lokesh Kumar, and others participated in the event.
