Hyderabad, April 12 (Hydnow): Predicting the scorching days ahead this summer, the Indian Meteorological Department – Hyderabad (IMD-H) has issued an orange alert for most of the districts in the Telangana state.
The IMD-H predicts a maximum temperature of up to 45 degrees Celsius in this week. Apart from the orange alert, it has also issued a yellow alert for Hyderabad, where the temperature is expected to rise up to 40 degrees Celsius.
The highest maximum temperature of 42.2 degrees Celsius was recorded in Adilabad today. Other districts that recorded more than 40 degrees Celsius are Jagtial 42.5, Mancherial 41, Kumuram Bheem 40.5, Nalgonda 40.5, Adilabad 40.3, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri 40.3, Mulugu 40.3 and Nagarkurnool 40.1.
In Hyderabad, the highest maximum temperature of 37.6 degrees Celsius was recorded in Khairatabad. the IMD-H had also predicted normal rainfall during the southwest monsoon season (Hydnow)
The Union Home Minister has alerted the states of the country in the wake of the Indo-Pak War. The Telangana government and police, which were immediately alerted, took preemptive measures. Security has been tightened in Hyderabad.
Thirty-two airports across northern and western parts of the country, including Srinagar and Amritsar, have been closed for civilian flight operations till May 15, according to the civil aviation regulator.
In view of the ongoing high alert across India and intensified security arrangements in Hyderabad and Secunderabad, the city police have issued a ban on bursting firecrackers or fireworks in public spaces, particularly near military cantonment areas.
