A youth from Balasamudram locality of Hanamkonda drowned in the pool of water at the Bheemunipaadam waterfall near Sitanagaram village in Gudur mandal of Mahabubabad district on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Diniki Saikrishna (18). He along with his two friends Akhilesh and Achyut, both from Hanamkonda, had gone to the waterfall, which is located about 57 km from Hanamkonda.
It is said that Saikrishna drowned while the trio was swimming in the pool of the waterfall.
Immediately, his friends rushed him to a hospital in Gudur, but the doctors declared him as brought dead.
