N.V. Ramana visits his native village first time after taking office of the CJI
After taking office as the CJI in April this year, Chief Justice of India Justice N.V. Ramana visited his native village Ponnavaram in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh for the first time.
He and his wife took a bullock cart journey to reach the village from the outskirts. Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy, a state minister, accompanied him. The CJI couple was greeted warmly by the villagers and the district administration, and they offered prayers at the nearby Shivalayam temple.

Addressing the Aatmiya Sabha in the village, the CJI spoke about his long affiliation with his native village. He has praised everyone in the village for making such elaborate plans to welcome him. He has also expressed gratitude to the district and state administrations for his visit to his native village.
The Union Home Minister has alerted the states of the country in the wake of the Indo-Pak War. The Telangana government and police, which were immediately alerted, took preemptive measures. Security has been tightened in Hyderabad.
