Coronavirus: Parkash Singh Badal Tests Positive

No fresh cases of Covid-19 were reported in Adilabad, Nirmal, and Mancherial district in the last 24 hours. Kumram Bheem Asifabad district reported a case on Saturday.

Adilabad, Nirmal and Mancherial districts did not see new cases of the disease on Saturday and till Sunday afternoon. A six-year-old boy, who was a close contact of a Covid-19 patient, tested positive for the acute respiratory disease at Mohinpur in Jainoor mandal centre of Kumaram Bheem Asifabad district on Saturday night. He was shifted to Gandhi Hospital for quarantining the virus.

His grandfather, an employee of postal department was contracted the disease from a Markaz returnee of this mandal a few days back, according to authorities of medical and health department. The returnee’s two sons, aged below 11, were already infected by the virus on April 11. So far, the district registered a total of five positive cases of Covid-19.

In Mancherial district, seven persons belonging to two families were kept under home quarantine at Narsingapur village in Hajipur mandal. Baikam Mallamma, a member of one of the families was admitted to a private hospital of Mancherial as she fractured her leg three days back. The private hospital was under the scanner after an elderly woman of Muttaraopalli in Chennur tested positive for Covid-19 on April 17. The elderly woman visited the hospital on April 13.

Meanwhile, a list of 59 secondary contacts of the elderly woman went viral on social media platforms in Mancherial district. However, it has to be confirmed by authorities concerned.
