One Lakh 'Means cum Merit' Scholarship: Govt of India
New Delhi, Oct.8 (Hydnow): Government of India has issued a notification calling applications from students for Award of one lakhNational Means cum Merit Scholarships (NMMS), with the objective of cutting down the dropout rate.
Students in class nine, tenth, intermediate or ten plus two or equivalent courses are eligible for the scholarship. Selected candidates will be given Rs. 1,000 each per month (Rs. 12,000 a year). For selection of students for the scholarship, state level examination will be conducted. The annual income of the family should not exceed Rs. 1.50 lakh a year.

Candidates have to apply online through State government Secondary Education Board website to the school concerned. Later, the print out of the application, attested copies of annual income, caste certificates should be sent to the D. E. O. concerned.
