Hyderabad, Aug 19 (Hydnow): A large number of petitions have been filed in the High Court of Telangana for reservation in allotment of liquor shops. A petition was also filed to cancel the notification of wine shop tenders and to provide Goud reservations in Liquor shop tenders.
Another petition was filed to give reservations to disabled persons in Liquor Shop tenders. a petition was filed challenging the Scheduled Caste PISA Act.
However, Justice CV Bhaskar Reddy said that all the petitions will be heard together. The High Court adjourned for further hearing to 2.30 today.
A record number of applications have been filed for Liquor shops in the state. While there are 2,620 wine shops across the state. 1.07 lakh applications were received by 6 pm on August 18 the last day.
It is noteworthy that more than 45 thousand came on August 18, with this, an income of Rs. 2,140 crores has accrued to the government exchequer through applications. (Hydnow)
