Hyderabad: An undertrial prisoner, Mohammed Wajeed, 22, of the Chanchalguda jail died while undergoing treatment in Osmania General Hospital. He had been arrested for theft and under the Arms Act.
Addicted to ganja and alcohol, he was undergoing treatment at the Institute of Mental Health Erragadda.
He was shifted to the OGH on August 19. A post-mortem exam confirmed said he died of prolonged chronic illness caused by his addiction, Dabeerpura police said. The report was sent to the NHRC.
