Hyderabad, April 10 (Maxim News): Senior Congress leader Pawan Khera has received relief from the Telangana High Court. The High Court has granted him interim bail in the case of his comments on Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sharma’s wife Riniki Bhuyan Sharma. The court has ordered the police not to take any action against Khera for a week. Similarly, Pawan Khera has also been ordered to cooperate with the police in the investigation.
Pawan Khera has made serious allegations against Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma’s wife Rinki Bhuyan Sharma. Pawan Khera alleged that Rinki Bhuyan Sharma has passports and citizenships of several countries. He also filed a complaint with the police in this regard. A case was registered against Rinki Sharma. Rinki Sharma also filed a case against Pawan Khera alleging that she had made false allegations against her. Khera approached the Telangana High Court for bail.
Senior Supreme Court advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi and senior advocate Ravinder Reddy argued on behalf of the petitioner. They argued that the petitioner was not able to face him politically and was being harassed by filing imaginary cases. They brought to the court’s attention that the Assam CM had made inappropriate comments about the petitioner and had ulterior motives in sending more than 100 policemen to his residence in Delhi. They said that the petitioner’s wife had contested from Sanath Nagar constituency in Hyderabad and was a local resident, so this court had jurisdiction to hear Khera’s petition.
Senior advocate Devajil Shaiki, appearing for the Assam government, said that the case registered against the petitioner was not a simple defamation case. He alleged that fake documents were used to make allegations that the CM’s wife had passports and citizenships of several countries. He said that the accused has an Aadhaar card that proves he is a permanent resident of Delhi. He said that the court is being misled by saying he is a resident of Hyderabad. After hearing the arguments, the judge Justice K Sujana granted interim relief to the petitioner Pawan Khera and granted bail. In the meantime, it was said that he can approach the relevant court.
