Hyderabad, Jan 16: Holidays for all schools and colleges in Telangana State, has been extended till January 30. Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar issued the orders following directions from Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao.
The decision is learnt to have been taken as a precautionary measure in the wake of rising Covid-19 cases across the country including Telangana.
Earlier, the State government declared holidays for all schools and colleges from January 8 to 16.

However, the KCR government has decided to extend the holidays till the end of the month in the wake of the steady increase in the number of corona cases in the state.
It has been decided to extend the vacation of all educational institutions in Telangana till 30.1.2022.@SomeshKumarIAS, Chief Secretary, Telangana State.

The government has extended the corona restrictions in the state till the 20th.
Meanwhile, in TelanganaState, 1,963 new cases were registered in a single day, while the number of active cases was 22,017.
