Warangal, Oct. 25 : Three top leaders of the outlawed CPI (Maoists) were killed in an encounter with the police party of greyhounds on the border of the Mulugu district of Telangana State and Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh state on Monday morning, while the police were combing the forest areas in search of the Maoists.
The spot of the encounter reportedly lies under the jurisdiction of the Peruru police station of the Wazedu mandal of Mulugu district. Speaking to a vernacular daily, Eturunagaram ASP Gaush Alam said that they had been trying to identify the slain Maoists.
Since the police have recovered an SLR and two AK-47 guns from the deceased, it is suspected that DCM cadre or above cadre Maoists suspected to be belonging to the military platoon led by Madvi Hidma alias Hidmalu alias Santhosh had been killed in the encounter.
