Hyderabad, Nov.19 (Hydnow): Top US varsity praised TS government and Telangana Information Technology Association’s (TITA) digital entity Digithon for its early coding program meant for students of government schools.

The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD), one of the top 50 universities in the world, appreciated TITA for the early coding program initiated for government school students with the help of the State government. UTD wrote to Industries Department Principal Secretary Jayesh Ranjan praising the efforts of the TS Government and for their coding skills initiative. Jayesh Ranjan thanked UTD for its letter of appreciation. The University was all praise for the District Collector Hari Chandana saying that significant commitment, diligent efforts by Collector and her team for this unique programme and monitoring the same were praiseworthy. The training methodology rendered by TITA is apt for young students, UTD added.

TITA Global President Sundeep Kumar Makthala expressed happiness over the UTD letter saying that the Association’s efforts have been recognized. Sundeep Makthala said TITA has launched many initiatives to impart digital skills to government school students. As part of this Programme, TITA chose to impart basic computer literacy programs and then coding skills for the students of government schools in four mandals of Narayanapet district. Students have underground training in Scratch, Python-based coding and are now capable of writing programs on their own. They are now equipped with skills with which they can develop games, quizzes, facial recognition, chat box features on their own. About 520 students from 40 Government schools from Makthal, Krishna, Manuguru in Narayanpet and Atmakur and Amarchinta mandals of Wanaparthy district were trained in coding programming. The UTD praised the TITA program saying it will transform the lives of rural students and appreciated the joint efforts of the TS Government and TITA. Narayanpet District Collector D Hari Chandana congratulated TITA on the occasion and said that the district administration will extend support to the Association and transform the district on the digital front.

Principal Secretary Jayesh Ranjan praised TITA and said the Association’s continuous efforts for the past six years to impart digital literacy in rural government rural areas were praiseworthy. With the support of the TS government, TITA is taking up numerous programs which are helpful to rural students, he said.

In the backdrop of UTD appreciation for TITA, Sundeep Makthala hoped that the Association will come up with various digital initiatives and thanked Principal Secretary Jayesh Ranjan for praising TITA’s initiative on Twitter. UTD appreciation in recognition of efforts, he said. Sundeep Kumar said UTD praising our digital programs will encourage the Association to further expand the digital literacy programs. We will bring more such initiatives in government schools in the future too for the benefit of rural students, Makthala added. (Hydnow)
