Hyderabad, May 20 (Hydnow): Congress MP N. Uttam Kumar Reddy today lashed out at Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao said the farmers in the State were losing a lot due to his attitude on the issue of the paddy procurement.
Uttam said the State government, which procured 92 lakh metric tonnes of paddy by this time last year, procured only 20 Lakh metric tonnes so far this year. He said the farmers in the State sold off their paddy for just ₹1,400 per quintal due to lack of paddy procurement centers.

Raising the issue of the decision of the Central government to credit its funds directly into the bank accounts of the villages of the State, the Congress MP asked the Chief Minister as to why he faulted it.
He reminded that former Prime Mnister and their party leader Rajiv Gandhi had introduced the process of directly crediting the funds of the Central government into the bank accounts of the villages.
He said he would raise the issue of increasing the fund allocations to the village panchayats in the upcoming Parliament session. (Hydnow)
