Hyderabad, June 17 (Hydnow): Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) , Commissioner Lokesh Kumar held a meeting with Zonal Commissioners & Deputy Commissioners on implementation of Telanganaku Haritha Haram (TKHH) in GHMC limits here today.

The Commissioner directed the officials to discuss with the Corporators to finalise ward wide action plan. He suggested to involve 30,000 employees of all wings of GHMC in plantation and to take care it’s survival.

The Commissioner emphasized to coordinate with the Residential Welfare Associations and organizations in plantation programme. He said that as per the directions of Government 50 Lakhs plantation should be taken up in this year. He instructed to appoint one officer as incharge to each location to look after plantation, its fencing, watering and it’s growth. Further he said that a total of 9300 kms of road length in GHMC, avenue plantation should be taken up on both sides.

He also suggested that plantation should be done in side compound wall of a private property by consulting with the owner, if road width is narrow. He instructed that an Avenue Plantation should be appeared on 709 kms main road and also central median should be taken. The Commissioner said that the HMRL take plantation all along Metro Rail route and its Medians.

Planting should be taken all along the compound walls of grave yard should be developed like green curtains. Take plantation in open areas and on open lay outs like Yadradri Forest Model to plant 40,000 plantations of different sizes of saplings in different rows in one hectare of land. Bio fencing should be taken on lay outs and take plantation all along Nalas. Plantation on both sides of Musi River and lake bunds.
