Hyderabad, April 8: ACB officials caught an MEO and a school assistant while taking a Rs 15000 bribe. The case relates to contributory pension benefit bills of a retired employee. The arrests took place in Gudur mandal of Mahabubabad district.
According to officials, the accused demanded money to clear pending pension bills. However, ACB teams conducted a raid and caught them during the transaction. As a result, both officials were detained on the spot.
ACB bribe case details and arrests
The accused include Ayodhya Ram, MEO and headmaster of a Zilla Parishad school, and Chandramouli, a school assistant. Meanwhile, ACB Warangal unit registered a case against them. Officials then arrested both and produced them before a Warangal court.
Further, ACB stated that the bribe was linked to processing pension benefits. Moreover, officials reiterated strict action against corruption in public offices.
