Hyderabad: Prof. Karen Ruffle, Department of Historical Studies and the Study of Religion, University of Toronto, Ontario, Canada visited Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) and interacted with the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan. During the interaction, Prof. Ruffle discussed about the proposal for a formal partnership and workshop collaboration for the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC).

Karen Ruffle is a Professor of the History of Religions (UTM) and the Study of Religion (UTSG). She specializes in the study of South Asian Shiʿism. Her research and teaching interests focus on devotional texts, ritual practices, and material practices in South Asia. She has conducted field research in India, Pakistan, Iran, Turkey, and Syria.

Prof. Shugufta Shaheen, OSD-1, and Prof. Azeezuddin, Honorary Professor, Centre for Urdu Culture Studies, MANUU were present during the interaction.
