Hyderabad, July 3 (Hydnow): Telangana government opposes completely the Electricity amendment Bill 2020 of the Centre, Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy today said.

The Centre is hatching a conspiracy against the states and trying to privatise the power sector, he criticised.

Talking to press persons here, the minister slammed the Centre for the new bill that hampers interests of the states. He flayed that the Central power bill is against the states which are implementing need based policies. Our policies are meant for farmers welfare and development the minister claimed.

The central bill, the minister said, is of no use for the consumers besides causing subsidy loss to domestic users. The central bill causes three types of losses and states opposing it are Telangana, Punjab, Rajasthan and Kerala, he said.

Despite some states are opposing the bill the centre is still remaining ignorant on their pleas in the new power bill. The minister accused the center of bringing in the power amendment bill unilaterally. The centre failed to make necessary changes in the bill by considering our pleas he added. (Hydnow)
