Hyderabad, Jan.19 (Hydnow): Minister for Power G Jagadish Reddy today said that electricity department is fast developing and offering facilities to cater to future needs with a power circuit around Hyderabad city.
At Rayadurgam area he visited a “Gas Insulated KV Sub Station with 400 KV Capacity” which is first of its kind in the country. The minister disclosed that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will inaugurate this facility soon. The electricity circuit set up around the city from the place is to provide uninterrupted power supply, he said.
The Minister said that Rs 140 cr spent for the purpose the 400 KV facilities will ensure that the city will never face power problems just for a second in future.

The Minister said that the 400 KV sub-station is first of its kind in the country with gas insulated system. Actually the sub-station requires 100 acres and facility was set up only in five acres he said. Latest technologies used to set up this to be inaugurated by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao soon, he said.
Hyderabad is fast developing in all sectors and efforts are being made to supply adequate power. Hyderabad will not face power problem for a second in future with this facility having four sub-stations with 400 KV, 220 KV, 133 KV and 33 KV capacities. All are set up at one place with 3km underground cables dug up for the purpose, the minister said.
All the four facilities are set up at one place as an electric circuit to avoid power cuts he said. Keeping three to four decades in view steps are being taken to supply power, the minister said. (Hydnow)
