Bhubaneshwar/Hyderabad, Oct 10 (Hydnow): The administrators of Jagannath Temple in Pur, Odisha have taken the crucial decision of making dress code mandatory for the devotees coming to the temple. The devotees who wear the traditional dresses only will be allowed in the temple from January 1.

Chief of Temple Administration Ranjan Kumar Das said that it is our responsibility to protect the dignity and sanctity of the temple. He said that unfortunately some devotees come wearing indecent clothes and do not care about religious sentiments. it is said that they enter the temple wearing jeans, sleeveless dresses, and half pants as if they had gone to the beach

He said that they are visiting the temple regardless of religious sentiments. He made it clear that the temple is a sacred place and not an entertainment area. From January 1, 2024, only those wearing a traditional dress will be allowed to enter the temple. A program has been started today to create awareness among the devotees. (Hydnow)
