Fire broke out a plastic scrap godown located at Mallepally near Nampally early on Sunday morning. No casualties were reported in the incident.
The blaze is suspected to have started from a short circuit at the premises and intensified after a compressor blast at the place located a little away from the Habeebnagar police station in Mallepally.
On receipt of information firemen from nearby fire stations rushed to the spot and are battling the blaze. At least three fire tenders are present on the spot and trying to contain the fire.

As a precautionary measure the residents of the nearby houses were evacuated by the firemen and the local police.
