Gender Champions Club Has Inaugurated at MANUU

Hyderabad: Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) has inaugurated the Gender Champions Club this week in a significant step towards promoting gender equality and inclusivity as per UGC Guidelines with the aim to create a safe and supportive environment for the MANUU community irrespective of gender.

Prof. Shugufta Shaheen, OSD1 while addressing the inaugural ceremony expressed her support for the initiative. During the expert talk, Prof. Gulfishaan Habeeb stated that the Gender Champions Club embodies our commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable environment for everyone. We believe that by creating a community of advocates, we can collectively address and eradicate gender-based discrimination, she added. Prof. Syed Aleem Ashraf, Dean of Student’s Welfare, and Prof. Mohd Abdul Sami Siddiqui, Joint Dean were also present.

The club plans to organize seminars, workshops, and awareness campaigns to educate on issues related to gender equality, women’s empowerment, and rights. It will serve as a platform for students and faculty to work towards breaking down gender-related barriers that may exist in academic and social settings.
