Telangana is Struggling to Beat the HeatHeat wave conditions predicted in State

India Meteorological Department issued warning saying there was possibility of heat wave conditions in isolated pockets in Telangana over next five days.

In its daily weather report, the department said heat wave conditions were ‘very likely’ to prevail in isolated pockets in Telangana till May 24, after which, on May 25, light to moderate rain or thunder showers were also ‘very likely’.

The slight respite the State had got from the scorching heat with the help of showers in the last few days appears to be a thing of the past already, with summer peaking across the State. As per the observations recorded till 8.30 am on Thursday, the highest maximum temperature recorded was 43.8 degree Celsius, at Adilabad, Khammam, Nizamabad and Ramagundam.

In Hyderabad, in the last 24 hours, the maximum temperature was 40.9 degree Celsius, which itself was a departure of 1.4 degrees from the normal temperature. The IMD forecast for Hyderabad till May 27 indicated that the maximum temperature could rise again and would be around 41 to 42 degree Celsius. While there could be light rains on May 25, there was the possibility of rains or thunderstorms on May 26 and 27.

According to the Telangana State Planning Development Society, dry weather was expected for the next three days. Across the State, the maximum temperatures were expected to be in the range of 43 degree Celsius to 46 degree Celsius, while in the GHMC area, the maximum temperatures are expected to be in the range of 41 to 43 degrees.

The highest maximum temperatures recorded in the last 24 hours in the GHMC areas were at Gajularamaram (42.2), Alwal (42), Qutbullapur (41.8), Chandanagar (41.7), Charminar and Uppal (41.4), according to the TSDPS.
