Hyderabad, June 6 (Hydnow): The Telangana High Court today convicted four police officers and sentenced them to undergo jail term of four weeks.

The convicts are city joint police commissioner AR Srinivas, Banjara Hills ACP Sudarshan, Jubilee Hills Circle Inspector Rajasekhar Reddy and Sub-Inspector Naresh .

The High Court, however, suspended the jail term for six weeks allowing the convicted police officers to appeal against its orders.

The High Court passed the orders while dealing with a contempt of court petition filed by Jakka Vinod Kumar Reddy and Jakka Soujanya Reddy.

The police faced the charges that they went against the orders of the Supreme Court of India while dealing with the issue of a couple.

The petitioners told the High Court that the police filed chargesheet in the case without issuing a notice to them. (Hydnow)
