A near curfew like situation prevailed in the containment areas of the older parts of the city, where several new positive cases of COVID-19 were reported in recent times.
The cases were reported from Jiyaguda, Mangalhat and Madannapet. The hot spots were an apartment and its surroundings in Madannapet, Indiranagar in Jiyaguda and Mangalhat area.
Many cases were reported from the Jiyaguda area in the last one week and teams of the health department and the GHMC are conducting door-to-door survey to identify persons who are showing symptoms of COVID-19.
