Hyderabad: In view of the ongoing high alert across India and intensified security arrangements in Hyderabad and Secunderabad, the city police have issued a ban on bursting firecrackers or fireworks in public spaces, particularly near military cantonment areas.
The order, issued by Hyderabad City Police Commissioner C.V. Anand, IPS, under Section 67(c) of the Hyderabad City Police Act, cites public safety and security concerns as the reason for the ban.
The Commissioner warned that sudden loud noises from firecrackers may be misinterpreted as explosions or terror-related activities, causing public panic and complicating emergency responses. “Such actions could disrupt public order and place unnecessary strain on security forces,” the notification said.
The directive, which is in immediate effect until further orders, applies to all public places, gatherings, and events. Citizens have been urged to cooperate in maintaining calm and security during this sensitive time.
Anyone found violating the order will face strict legal action under relevant provisions of the law.
