Hyderabad: Hyderabad has been experiencing moderate to heavy rains, and the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast looks at city continuing to receive showers for two more days.

On Saturday, till evening, the area surrounding Biodiversity Park recorded the highest rainfall at 36.8 mm and continuous rains resulted in a dip in temperature in the city. The maximum temperature recorded was 27.2 degrees Celsius.

Sharing the reason for the squall, Dr K Nagaratna, Director of Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Hyderabad, states “Clouds in the southern part of the country are moving from west to east. As a result, Hyderabad and a few other districts of Telangana will receive light to moderate rains. A few places may also experience heavy downpour.”

As per the forecast by Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS), most localities of Hyderabad will receive rainfall between 2.5 mm and 15.6 mm till Sunday morning. However, parts of Serilingampally and Rajendranagar might witness downpours between 16 mm and 64.5 mm. The maximum temperatures in the city for a few days are expected to be in the range of 30 degrees Celsius to 32 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperatures to be in the range of 21 degrees Celsius to 23 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, several other districts in the State have been receiving heavy downpours for the last two days.

On Saturday, Yadadri Bhongir, Suryapet, Rangareddy, Nalgonda and Jogulamba Gadwal received up to 90 mm of rainfall while Khanapur in Khammamsaw the highest rainfall of 95.5 mm.
