Kolkata-Hyderabad IndiGo Flight Diverted to Bengaluru
Hyderabad: Passengers traveling on board a Kolkata-Hyderabad flight on Thursday had anxious moments when the pilot was unable to land the aircraft and diverted to Bengaluru.
The IndiGo flight 6E 6528, which departed Kolkata at around 9 pm on August 31, 2023, was scheduled to land in Hyderabad at 11 pm but touched down at Bengaluru past midnight causing inconvenience to passengers. Passengers complained that the pilot tried to land the airplane twice but had to pull back at the last minute for some reason.
“They did not give any indication about the problem. Till 11.45 pm they were flying over Hyderabad airport and the captain announced that due to technical issues, they were diverting to Bengaluru,” said a passenger. “We were brought back at 3 a.m.,” fumed Anil Reddy Vennam, vice president, of All India Plastics Manufacturers’ Association.

When contacted, IndiGo blamed weather conditions. “Flight was diverted to Bengaluru due to prevailing weather conditions. We regret the inconvenience caused to our passengers,” the airline said in a statement.
