Hyderabad, June 14 (Hydnow): BJP State president Dr. K. Laxman wrote a letter to union health minister Sr. Harshvardhan and said him to intervene into the issue to control Corona virus in state. He also requested the minister to send a high-power delegation vested with the power to take instantaneous decisions and accord instructions thereof to save the people of Telangana and save the city of Hyderabad which is already showing signs of rampant community spread on war-footing.

In his letter he said that the Union Health Secretary had conducted a meeting with the officials of the 10 states including Telangana and issued guidelines a couple of days ago. He said that although this is no time to make complaints, the state government was hapless, nonchalant and apathetic and left the people to their fate. The Medical fraternity was completely demoralised as no one cares for them, he said while noting that they don’t even have safe kits. “Over 160 medical personnel got affected by corona. Meanwhile, junior doctors have gone strike as they feel the government hasn’t been supporting them and in fact exerting insurmountable pressure on only one hospital and staff there,” Laxman stated .

Referring to the latest ICMR guidelines he said that they talk about quarantine of patients at home but given the density of Indian population and its habitation patterns, it was not easy either for families or communities to have positive patients inside the house. Further, given the fear that people are gripped with over Corona, it is impossible, he told the Home Minister. “Therefore, people prefer treatment in hospitals only. In this context, one of the best ways is to bring COVID under Arogyasree/ Ayushman Bharath scheme and permit every hospital to extend treatment as per ICMR guidelines ,” he urged. (Hydnow)
