Leaving 7 Seats Represented By MIM: Muslim Voters Are Crucial In 25 Seats

Hyderabad, Nov 6 (Hydnow): Except for the seven seats currently represented by MIM in the capital city of Hyderabad, there are more than 25 constituencies in the state where Muslim voters influence the candidates.

The Muslims supported BRs in the 2108 elections in the highest number of seats, and BRS played a key role in winning a large number of seats in that election. The proof of this is that BRS won most of the seats in that election where the Muslim population was high.

After the formation of Telangana state, MIM which claims to be the representative of Muslims, BRS friendship was the reason why the voters of that group supported the BRS. In this background of the recent developments in the state, the Congress party has been able to carry a broad campaign among the Muslims that BJP, BRS, and MIm are one and the same. As there are signs of success of this campaign, it is interesting to see who the Muslims will support this time.

The initial campaign was that Asaduddin Owaisi, MIM President decided to field Majlis candidates in all the constituencies where the Minorities have influence, not only in the old city. There are reports that MIM is planning to contest throughout the state where the Muslim population is over 20 percent,  but with the friendship and assurance to the Muslim leaders from the ruling BRS, the MIM has gone back and announced to contest only from the 9 seats.

In these 9 seats, the MIM has denied tickets to the two sitting MLAs, Charminar MLA Mumtaz Ahmed Khan disapproves of not getting a ticket. He is known as the leader who clashed with Asaduddin Owaisi’s father Salahuddin Owaisi when he was in MBT in the past. After the MIM refused the seat, MBT and Congress parties invited him to contest on behalf of their party, if Mumtaz Ahmed Khan changes party, there are signs that it will not be easy for Majlis to win that seat in Nampally which is in the hands of MIM, the congress party is giving a tough fight.

After the formation of the Nampally constituency in 2009, the Majlist party won here three times.  Foroze Khan was the nearest rival of the Majlis three times.  Despite the defeat.  Feroze Khan always remained with the people, so this time the Congress again gave him the ticket.  On the other hand, MIM has given  Yakutpura ticket to sitting MLA Zafar Hussain and has fielded former mayor Majid Hussain from Nampally.  MIM hopes to change the sitting MLA in Bahadurpura as well.  Although it has been said that it will contest in Rajendranagar and Jubilee Hills seats, the candidate has not been announced yet.  The challenge for the party is to maintain the sitting positions this time due to the internal strife in the party like never before.  with this, the Majlis, which had initially announced that it would contest in another district as well, backed down.  Charminar, Bahadurpura, Yakutpura, Chandrayangutta, Malakpet, Karwan and Nampally constituencies represented by MIM currently have 50-85 percent Muslim voters.  As many as 33 percent of voters in Jubilee Hills and Rajendranagar constituencies are Muslims.

In Greater Hyderabad, Goshamahal, Sanathnagar, Musheerabad, Khairatabad, Jubilee Hills, Secunderabad-Cantonment, and Amberpet assembly segments also have minority voters up to 20-25 percent.  Maheshwaram, LB Nagar, Serilingampally, Kuthbullapur, and Kukatpally are also significant.  There are 15-20 percent Muslim voters in many constituencies in other districts, whoever gets the most votes wins.  congress party is confident that these Muslim votes will fall to them in the background of the changed developments.

As per the 2018 voters list, Muslims have a large percentage of voters in
