Nizamabad/Hyderabad, July 9 (Hydnow): An incident of child marriage took place in a Tanda in Navipet Mandal of Nizamabad district on Friday night. According to the police, officials, and villagers, a girl (13) from Tanda was married to a man named Saheb Rao (42) from Fakirabad. Saheb Rao took the girl and left when the officials and the police reached the spot.
the locals got into an argument with the officials who came to stop the wedding. DCP Chaitanya Kumar went to Tanda on Saturday and conducted an investigation. Secretary Ahmad has filed a complaint with Navipet police to take legal action against the person who got married as a child as well as those who assisted in the marriage.
villagers say that the married man has two sons, Child Helpline Project Coordinator Jotsna Devi, ICDS Supervisor Bhagyalakshmi, Anganwadi Teacher Shobha, and others visited. (Hydnow)
