Amaravati, June 12 (Hydnow): TDP leader Nara Lokesh on Sunday accused Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy of turning Andhra Pradesh into ‘Sampoorna Madyapaana Pradesh’.
He said Jagan Mohan Reddy brought over Rs 8,300 Crore new loans by mortgaging the liquor drinkers in the State.
In a statement here, the TDP MLC demanded that the Chief Minister explain what happened to his pre-election promise of phased prohibition. Jagan Reddy had made countless false promises to his so-called ‘akka chellemmalu’ (elder and younger sisters).
He said the Chief Minister portrayed himself as ‘Jagananna’ for all, but after coming to power, his J-brands started tearing apart the mangala sutras of all sections of women.
Nara Lokesh said the Chief Minister’s misdeeds in the name of phased prohibition crossed all limits. In a total reversal of his own policy, Jagan Mohan Reddy has given it in writing to the loan giving firms that his government would not implement the total prohibition policy. (Hydnow)
I could never wrap my head around Bollywood’s obsession with continuously addressing condom as a chhatri or an umbrella. Not only it’s cringe to hear repeatedly but also, it somewhere defeats the whole purpose with which films around these subjects are made. Moreover, picking a taboo subject and making a film on it can turn out to be quite risky if you don’t stick to the agenda and beat around the bush. Thankfully, Rakul Preet Singh’s Chhatriwali, directed by Tejas Prabhaa Vijay Deoskar, doesn’t digress much, and follows a crisp screenplay. There are some flaws here and there, but with all the humour and lighter moments, they can be somewhat overlooked.
A dirty bomb in the possession of an unstable democracy could be lethal. How it was stopped in its tracks is the story of Mission Majnu, which starts by saying that it is ‘inspired by true events’.
The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has vehemently opposed the Election Commission of India’s proposal of remote EVMs (RVMs) to enable domestic migrants to vote remotely in the elections being held in their home States or constituencies.
