Hyderabad, July 26 (Hydnow): Agriculture Minister Singireddy Niranjan Reddy today slammed the opposition parties for carrying out misinformation campaign on urea availability and trying to confusing farmers.

The minister asked the farmers not to get panic as there is adequate stock of urea of 1.56 lakh tons.
Despite adequate stocks of urea in our state some vested interests are trying to create panic, the minister expressed displeasure. Despite Corona crisis Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has given exemptions to farm sector and farmers can get adequate urea the minister said.

Niranjan Reddy hit out at the Congress, BJP without naming them for unnecessary criticism on agriculture and urea and other issues. The Centre has promised to release additional quota of urea after his recent tour to Delhi.

The minister informed that the state needs 22.30 lakh tons urea, while the Centre has promised to give 10.50 lakh tons. Out of 2.05 lakh tons, the centre has so far released 1.06 lakh tons and the rest of stock would come by month end, Niranjan Reddy stated. There is adequate stock of urea with dealers, agriculture commissioner, marked, and cooperative societies he explained.

The minister appreciated officials for releasing about Rs 7000 cr to be benefit 56 lakhs of farmers in the state. This, he said, can be attributed to the efficiency of the officials and commitment of the government. (Hydnow)
