Nirmala Sitharaman Spoke For 58 Mins in Budget 2024
Delhi/Hyderabad, Feb 1 (Hydnow): Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaraman presented the Union Budget of the Narendra Modi 2.0 government in the Lok Sabha today. Budget speech continued for 58 minutes.
This is the first time that she has completed the budget speech in the shortest time compared to the Union budgets presented by her so far.
Looking at Nirmala Sitharaman’s past speeches, her budget speech in 2019 lasted for 137 minutes. In 2020, she gave a long speech for 162 minutes. She spoke for 110 minutes in 2021 and 92 minutes in 2022. In 2023, her speech lasted for 87 minutes. This time (2024) being an interim budget, the speech ended with 58 minutes.
Nirmala Sitharaman has presented the full budget five times since July 2019 in the Lok Sabha. With the budget presented on Thursday, she surpassed the records of previous finance Ministers Manmohan singh, Arun Jaitley, P.Chidambaram and yashwant Sinha. (Hydnow)
