Hyderabad, April 11: PM Modi says double engine government key for Bengal security while addressing a rally in West Bengal. He stated that peace and safety can be ensured only with such governance.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the ruling TMC is concerned about rising support for the BJP. He alleged that political violence has increased due to fear of defeat. Therefore, he promised strict action against offenders.
Modi said the BJP will act against infiltrators and their supporters. He added that those involved in violence will face legal action. Moreover, he promised a white paper on corruption and law and order.
He also said an inquiry commission led by a retired Supreme Court judge will probe violence. In addition, he assured that existing welfare schemes will continue. He said Ayushman Bharat will be implemented if BJP comes to power.
Assembly elections in West Bengal will take place in two phases on April 23 and 29. Counting of votes will be held on May 4.
