Hyderabad, April 13: Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Delhi Dehradun Economic Corridor during his visit to Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand on April 14, 2026. He will also review key project components and address a public gathering.
The Prime Minister will first visit Saharanpur at around 11:15 AM. He will review the wildlife corridor on the elevated section of the project.
He will then travel to Dehradun and perform darshan and pooja at the Daat Kali Temple at around 11:40 AM. Later, he will inaugurate the corridor at about 12:30 PM and address the public.
Delhi Dehradun Economic Corridor inauguration
The Delhi Dehradun Economic Corridor spans 213 km and has been built at a cost of over Rs 12,000 crore. It connects Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand.
The project will reduce travel time between Delhi and Dehradun from over six hours to about two and a half hours. It aims to improve connectivity and ease travel.
The corridor includes 10 interchanges, three railway over bridges, and four major bridges. Additionally, 12 wayside amenities will support commuters.
It also features an Advanced Traffic Management System for safer and efficient travel. Moreover, the project integrates several eco friendly measures.
A 12 km wildlife elevated corridor forms a key feature. It is among the longest in Asia and helps reduce human animal conflict.
The project also includes eight animal passes and two elephant underpasses. A 370 metre tunnel near Daat Kali Temple is also part of the design.
Officials said the corridor will boost regional economic growth. It is expected to enhance tourism and open new trade opportunities.
